The first game of what was supposed to be a four-game set against the Red Sox was rained out tonight. The Yankees and Red Sox will make up the game on August 3. If you had tickets for tonight’s game, check out the New York Yankees’ official Twitter account for further information.
Tonight’s rainout has direct implications on the Yankees’ starting rotation. Originally, the Yankees planned to do something like this:
Big news about America: J.A. Happ will start tomorrow against the Red Sox. Domingo Germán will pitch Friday *or* Saturday depending on the bullpen situation. Then possibly/likely CC Sabathia on Sunday. So the bullpen day against the Red Sox is TBD.

With the rainout, the Yankees have elected to forego using one of the weekend games as a bullpen day. Instead, J.A. Happ will throw tomorrow, Domingo German goes Saturday, and CC Sabathia will get the ball on Sunday.
One less bullpen game—especially against the Red Sox—isn’t a bad thing.
