With tonight’s victory in the record books, the Yankees have won four games in a row and eight of their last 10. The Bombers also secured another series win. This team is good, folks. It’s very good.
We’ll have a full recap a little later on tonight. In the meantime, here are some of the highlights.
Winner of the Game
You could make the case for a number of winners tonight, but the honor has to go to Gleyber Torres. The Yankees shortstop continued his dominance of the Orioles by swatting a pair of home runs. That’s his fourth multi-homer game of the season, with all four coming against Baltimore. In fact, Orioles pitchers have served up 10 of Torres’ 12 home runs this year. Bananas. Absolutely bananas.
Honorable Mentions: Gary Sanchez, Gary Thorne
Loser of the Game
CC Sabathia had the worst outing of his season tonight. The left-handed allowed five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out seven in the process. He gave up a pair of home runs and plenty of hard contact.

Sabathia has had a fine season to date, so I’m willing to write this off as a clunker. It happens to everyone.
