In this week’s episode of A Call Away, Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre radio broadcaster Adam Giardino catches up with right-hander Chad Green and catcher Kyle Higashioka as they join the RailRiders roster over the past week.
With Green, the two discuss his goals for being back in the minors after making over 100 combined appearances the last two seasons out of the Yankees bullpen. Higashioka talks about the vibe up in New York with all the players in that clubhouse stepping in and having a positive impact with the club’s unexpected success amidst all the injuries.
Giardino is joined during the podcast by his broadcast partner with the RailRiders, Adam Marco. They break down an intriguing name to splash across the Yankees prospect radar in 24-year old infielder Gosuke Katoh, who is a top 10 hitter in the International League entering the start of the week. They also talk about what they saw from Green in his first appearance with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, plus a breakdown of Tebow Mania as Tim Tebow came to PNC Field over the weekend.
The podcast wraps up with reports from broadcasters Matt Dean of the Charleston RiverDogs (Single-A), Jon Mozes of the Trenton Thunder (Double-A) and Marco in Triple-A.
