After several days without baseball, now it’s time for more today!
The Yankees took the opening game of the doubleheader 5-3, with four of their runs coming via the home run. Now, they’ll go for a sweep of the rain affected, abbreviated series against the Orioles, hopefully with some more dingers.
Domingo German will get the ball for game two, coming off one of the lesser starts in his mostly good 2019. Over the weekend in Tampa, German allowed three runs on five hits in five innings. It was just the third time all season he’s given up three or more runs, which says something about how his year has gone so far. However, that was still good enough for he and the Yankees to get the win.
As for the rest of the Yankees lineup, the big story is the debut of Kendrys Morales. The newest acquisition was added to the roster between games, with Joe Harvey going down to Triple-A. Here’s the rest of tonight’s starters:

Taking the mound for the Orioles will be Andrew Cashner. The last time he faced off against the Yankees was Opening Day, where he was tagged for six runs and had to exit in the fifth inning. Here’s who else Baltimore will run out in the series finale.

Tonight’s game can be seen on YES, and heard on WFAN or WADO. Hopefully the slight chance to rain in the forecast doesn’t come to pass, and this series can end with a somewhat normal amount of baseball played. Go Yankees, go baseball.
