Don’t look now, but the Yankees just played 13 games in a row, and won 11 of those contests. They keep finding a way to get the job done, despite all the injuries. I was at Friday’s game, and Mike Tauchman made a nice catch in center field at one point. The Yankees fan behind me jumped to his feet, cheering, and yelled, “I don’t even know who that is!” If that doesn’t sum up the entire season, I don’t know what does.
Winner of the Game
The offense was great today! They jumped all over Dereck Rodriguez, scoring two runs in the first, second, and third innings. Most of the lineup contributed, but Gary Sanchez and Gleyber Torres had big games in particular. Torres collected an RBI during the first inning, then they both launched two-run home runs later in the game.

Honorable mention: Domingo German was fantastic through five, but the wheels fell off in the sixth.
Loser of the Game
Nick Vincent. He drilled Gio Urshela in the hand during the fifth inning, and the infielder immediately had to be removed from the game. The last thing this team needs is another freaking injury, especially after DJ LeMahieu exited with knee inflammation.
It sounds like everyone is going to be okay, thankfully, but you still never know with this team.
