New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels: Masahiro Tanaka vs. Trevor Cahill

Can the Yankees finish off a sweep in LA?

Well, this has been a wild series, hasn’t it?

Last night saw the Yankees come back from five runs down after five innings, eventually winning 6-5. On Monday, the teams went 14 innings, playing until nearly 3:00 AM on the east coast. Tuesday was the most run of the mill game, and that one saw the Yankees nearly blow a 7-1 lead.

Now we’ve reached the finale. The Yankees and Angels will wrap up their series in LA with one last game tonight. The Yankees have already clinched a series win, but a win tonight would give them their third sweep of the season. This one would arguably be the most impressive considering the lineups they’ve been using of late.

Masahiro Tanaka gets the start on the mound for the Yankees, coming off a one-run, four-hit outing against the Royals on Sunday. He’s looking to continue his good start to the 2019 season, and looking to continue performing well against the Angels. Other than the Giants who he’s only faced once, Tanaka’s numbers against the Angels are his best.

As for the rest of the lineup, Mike Tauchman is now hitting ahead of Gleyber Torres. Things are weird.

Trevor Cahill gets the start for the Angels, making his second appearance of the series. As you may recall, he was forced into pinch hitting on Monday night after things went off the rails in that game.

Tonight’s game can be seen on YES and heard on WFAN or WADO. First pitch will be at 9:07 PM ET. Go Yankees, go baseball.
