MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: You know, perhaps what the Yankees need is just to get out of the month of April. Pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and start all over again, as the famous song goes. April has, for lack of a better term, sucked. Injuries upon injuries upon injuries. Clint Frazier might be okay after the precautionary MRI, but Giancarlo Stanton needed a cortisone injection for his left shoulder because it’s 2019 and the Humbler has returned with a vengeance. At this point, I’m going to go on the IL soon.
New York Daily News | Kristie Ackert: Chad Green has caused my heart to go on the IL. Because he’s bad now. Green was once good. Few relievers had better numbers than him in 2018. He is being sent down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in order to find his stuff. I hope he finds it soon, before another Yankee pitcher winds up on the IL.
New York Post | Joel Sherman: Maybe I just need a bit of cheering up. I’m not going to find it in this article though, as it lays out how Dellin Betances is most likely going to be screwed over by this free agency period. Sigh. Nothing I type here will add to this article. You should read it.
MLB.com | Gregor Chisholm: One bit of good news is that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is finally getting called up to the majors. I mean, it’s good news that it’s finally happening. It’s not good that it took this long because of some absolute crap system of baseball that kept him down when he should have been up last year. But hey, he’ll finally be here this Friday. The Yankees won’t see him until June, which is kind of odd considering they play the Blue Jays nineteen times this year.
