Tommy Kahnle and Stephen Tarpley round out the bullpen, and Mike Tauchman made the team as the backup outfielder. CC Sabathia is expected to make the club’s Opening Day roster, and to immediately serve his five-game suspension. So the Yankees will begin playing the 2019 campaign a man short.

New York Post | Joseph Staszewski: Southpaw reliever Phillip Diehl thought he was being pranked when General Manager Brian Cashman informed him of the trade that sent him to Colorado in exchange for outfielder Mike Tauchman. The 24-year-old Diehl added that he’s going to miss the many friends he made while pitching in the Yankees organization.
MLB Trade Rumors | George Miller: Rule 5 selection Nick Green has been returned by the Diamondbacks to the Yankees. Green, who turns 24 tomorrow, failed to make Arizona’s Opening Day roster and will instead rejoin his former club after clearing waivers.
