Opening Day is just a week away! The Yankees released their promotional giveaway schedule, so now is the time to figure out which games have the free stuff you want and plan accordingly.
Bobbleheads
The Yankees always give out some pretty sweet bobbleheads, and this year is no different. In fact, they’ve really outdone themselves with a whopping six different ones.
Friday, April 12th vs. Chicago White Sox - Bernie Williams
Saturday, May 4th vs. Minnesota Twins - CC Sabathia
Monday, May 27th vs. San Diego Padres - Giancarlo Stanton
Friday, July 12th vs. Toronto Blue Jays - Mariano Rivera
Thursday, July 18th vs. Tampa Bay Rays - David Cone
Friday, August 30th vs. Oakland Athletics - Gleyber Torres
Per usual, bobbleheads will be available to the first 18,000 guests in attendance. They haven’t released preview images of them all yet, but Sabathia is depicted as a Jedi in his (pictured below). It would go nicely with your collection if you happened to nab the Aaron Judge Star Wars one last year.
2019 Yankees Promotional Highlights include a Star Wars Day CC Sabathia Jedi Bobblehead, a Bernie Williams Bobblehead, a Yankees Lightweight Hoodie presented by Ford, and so much more. See full list here: https://t.co/bg02UT3s2V pic.twitter.com/EJ6XnW4cxp

I’m not convinced that looks like Bernie, but they did a good job capturing CC’s likeness! Rivera’s is Captain America-themed, whatever that means.
Household items
If you’re headed to the stadium on Opening Day, you can pick up a nifty magnetic schedule. A regular calendar will be available to the first 40,000 guests on March 31st. On April 20th, fans can grab a tote bag that looks like a Yankees jersey.
The first 18,000 guests (21 and older) in attendance on June 21st will receive a mug courtesy of Budweiser. More dishware will be available July 19th in the form of a collectible Yankees cup.
Hats
Don’t have enough Yankees hats? Head to the June 18th game versus the Rays for a regular blue cap. If you’re looking for something fancier, the first 18,000 guests (21 and older) will receive a camo cap on July 13th. To prepare for the colder weather (and hopefully October baseball), the Bombers will give away knit caps on September 20th.
*Not a hat, but didn’t really fit anywhere else: The Yankees are giving away 18,000 lightweight hoodies on August 31st.
Kids only
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: The 14 and under crowd get all of the actually cool stuff. What about being an adult precludes me from wanting a replica of the 2009 World Champions ring? The first 10,000 kids (under 14) can grab one on August 18th. They can also pick up a 1999 World Champions commemorative bat on May 5th.
The W.B. Mason Collectible Truck series will continue on May 18th. The kiddos can also pick up a “Yankees arm sleeve” during May 19th’s game against the Rays, as well as a free poster on August 14th.
Special events
TBD - 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots
Sunday, June 23rd - Old-Timers’ Day
Saturday, July 13th - Military Appreciation Day
Saturday, August 17th - Mariano Rivera Hall of Fame Celebration
We know that the Yankees will provide $50,000 worth of scholarships to the LGBTQ community this year, and the recipients will be celebrated at one of the games during the team’s June 17-26th homestand. However, an exact date hasn’t been announced, nor have they released any details on the other LGBTQ community-themed commemorations planned for this year.
Which of these giveaways or promotions are you looking forward to?
