New York Yankees vs. Philadelphia Phillies: James Paxton vs. Jerad Eickhoff

The Yankees tackle their final doubleheader of spring training today.

It’s another split-squad Sunday! After demolishing the Blue Jays yesterday with a barrage of home runs (albeit while watching Estevan Florial suffer a disheartening injury) the Yankees will play two this afternoon. They’ll actually travel for both games, with one squad heading to Sarasota to face off with the Orioles, while another unit takes on the Phillies over in Clearwater.

James Paxton gets the ball against the Phillies. The newly-imported lefty has been sharp this spring, yielding one run in 7.1 innings with 10 strikeouts. He’ll be opposed by Jerad Eickhoff. The 28-year-old right-hander owns a career 107 ERA+, though he’s coming off an injury-riddled 2018 campaign in which he tossed just 5.1 frames.

Jonathan Loaisiga will start versus the Orioles. With Luis Severino and CC Sabathia both ailing, Loaisiga had an big opportunity to entrench himself in the Yankees’ rotation. He’s struggled in spring training, however, and Luis Cessa and Domingo German appear to have passed him as rotation options. In opposition, the Orioles will send out right-hander Mike Wright.

Take a look at all the lineups:

Both games start at 1:05 EST and can be streamed on MLB.tv, while the Phillies game can be heard on the radio at WFAN.
