The Yankees had yesterday off, but the Bombers are back in the swing of things tonight. The team will host the Baltimore Orioles for an evening game at Steinbrenner Field.
On the pitching side of things, Jonathan Loaisiga will make his fifth appearance — and third start — of the spring. The right-hander has had a rough spring results-wise, allowing five runs in seven innings pitched. His stuff, however, caught his teammates’ attention.
“Fastball that moves, the hook, a changeup he can throw at any time,” explained Austin Romine to Erik Boland. “It’s an easy 97 [mph]. A lot to like.”
Loaisiga is almost a lock to make the team given the injury to Luis Severino. How he fares throughout the rest of camp, however, will determine if he heads north as a starter or a reliever.
Behind Loaisiga, the Yankees will trot out a representative lineup.
