NJ.com | Mike Rosenstein: One of the possible reasons for the Yankees’ seeming lack on interest in Manny Machado and Bryce Harper was Nolan Arenado’s upcoming free agency. Well, he may no longer be an option. Ken Rosenthal reported that Colorado’s third baseman is close to an extension with the Rockies. If that does come to fruition, will the Yankees reconsider their options and make a play at Machado?

New York Daily News | Wallace Matthews: Of course, the flip side of that is Aaron Boone’s comments on Tuesday night. At the Thurman Munson Awards Dinner, Boone said that he thinks the Yankees are a complete team, and that he doesn’t expect any major moves before spring training begins. While Boone probably believes the “complete team” thing, it’s par for the course for a manager to say at this point of the year. As for the other major takeaway, it’s probably true. However, insert quote about Bubba Crosby here. Stranger things always could happen.

New York Post | Greg Joyce: Shifting away from free agency and 2019 team news, here is an article about the Yankees’ 2018 first-round draft pick Anthony Seigler. The status of being a first-round pick comes with expectations, but the catcher isn’t worried about those. Seigler impressed in his short time in the minors last year, before getting a concussion near the end of the season.

Cut4 | Chris Landers: To close things out, here is a post about arguably the weirdest strikeout ever, which happened in a Yankees-Blue Jays game in 1992. This does somehow top Chris Stewart’s two-pitch strikeout from 2013.
