Time to check off another milestone: it’s the Yankees’ (spring) home opener! New York will take on the Blue Jays in their first spring training game at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa Bay.
James Paxton will toe the rubber in his first start for the Yankees. Paxton stands as perhaps the Yankees’ biggest offseason addition, so all eyes will be on him from this moment forward as he tries to help push the Yankees’ rotation over the top.
On the other side, Toronto sends Marcus Stroman to the mound. Stroman is an interesting, out-spoken player, but he’s coming off an awful that saw his ERA inflate above 5. He’ll look to get a rebound season started off on the right foot.
