Roughly half of all Yankees fans are upset that the team didn’t sign Manny Machado, while the other half are tired of reading the first half complain about it. We’ve heard you loud and clear, and we’re tired of writing about it too. Spring training is here, Opening Day is less than five weeks away, and it’s time to start focusing on the new season. That brings us to this week’s FanPost Friday prompt:
What are the top three reasons to be optimistic about the 2019 Yankees?
Regardless of whether you’re personally happy with the Yankees’ offseason moves, you can’t deny that they made a lot of them. The Bombers brought back several former Yankees, let some fan favorites walk, cut some dead weight, and pulled off a surprising trade for James Paxton. The bullpen appears to be one of the best—if not the best—in MLB. Players who were injured last season are mostly healthy (RIP Jacoby Ellsbury), and there is every reason to believe that this team could win more than 100 games.
There are plenty of things to be excited about as the new season approaches, but what are your top three reasons for optimism? Head over to the FanPost section and share your answer with us. We’ll feature one of the submissions on the front page on Friday.
How will we select which FanPosts to promote to the front page? Some of it will be subjective. If you follow our tips, you should find yourself on the right track. We will also be looking for FanPosts with comments and recommendations. Depending on the number of responses we get, receiving some recs on your post could separate your FanPost from the crowd. Additionally, if your post has a number of comments then it may have sparked some worthwhile discussions. These are just a few things we’ll be looking for when we decide which post(s) to promote on the front page. We are always on the lookout for new talent, and the FanPost section can be a great way to get our attention.
Submit your answer in the FanPost section before Friday (March 1st) for your post to be considered.
