NJ.com | Mike Rosenstein: While CC Sabathia is no longer with the Yankees, he’s still trying to help them out. On an episode of his “R2C2 is UNINTERRUPTED” podcast, Sabathia said he has spoken with Gerrit Cole “at length” about them both being “West Coast guys” with the possibility of joining the Yankees. Sabathia essentially said that if the Yankees show Cole the money, he’ll sign with them.
FanGraphs | Craig Edwards: It has been pretty obvious in recent years that the Yankees don’t spend money like they used to. In fact, their payroll over the last four seasons has been the lowest it has been since 2001. The Yankees are trying to achieve massive profits and winning seasons, which don’t go hand-in-hand with each other. We’ll see which side they choose to lean on this offseason.
MLB.com | David Adler: Aaron Judge is most known for his power at the plate, but it was his defense getting the recognition this time. The right fielder has been awarded the 2019 Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award for his exceptional glove work. The award honors the top defender at each position.
New York Post | George A. King III: Didi Gregorius is one of the better free agent shortstops out there, but there may not be much of a market for him. Because of that, it could lead to him back in pinstripes next season. Though, all it will take is one team to offer him a multi-year deal that could have him packing his bags.
