For one, players like Aroldis Chapman and Stephen Strasburg had to decide whether to use their opt-out clauses over the weekend, and yesterday, clubs rendered qualifying offers to some impending free agents.

Didi Gregorius wasn’t among those free agents to receive a qualifying offer, meaning the Yankees will let him test free agency. That stands as one of the team’s more impactful decisions so far.
