The Yankees received help from unexpected places during this season’s long journey to the playoffs. Many injured players returned just in time for October, leaving the Bombers with some tough choices to make regarding the postseason roster. That brings us to this week’s FanPost Friday prompt:

Who is the best player left off of the Yankees’ ALDS roster?

When Mike Ford was given Clint Frazier’s locker last week, it seemed like the first baseman might earn a roster spot over Luke Voit. That didn’t end up being the case, however. It wasn’t surprising that Frazier didn’t crack the team, considering his defensive struggles. As for pitchers, the decision to carry Tyler Lyons seemed to be a strange one, when Ben Heller, Jordan Montgomery, or Stephen Tarpley might have filled a bullpen spot instead. Of course, the Yankees will get to reset their roster for the ALCS, if they advance, and we might see some changes. Who do you think was the best player who didn’t make the cut? Do you think they could or should be added if the Bombers progress to the next round? Head over to the FanPost section and share your answer with us. We’ll feature one of the submissions on the front page on Friday.

How will we select which FanPosts to promote to the front page? Some of it will be subjective. If you follow our tips, you should find yourself on the right track. We will also be looking for FanPosts with comments and recommendations. Depending on the number of responses we get, receiving some recs on your post could separate your FanPost from the crowd. Additionally, if your post has a number of comments then it may have sparked some worthwhile discussions. These are just a few things we’ll be looking for when we decide which post(s) to promote on the front page. We are always on the lookout for new talent, and the FanPost section can be a great way to get our attention.

Submit your answer in the FanPost section before Friday (October 11) for your post to be considered.
