The ALDS has gone near-flawlessly for the Yankees so far. The Bombers carry a commanding two-game lead into Target Field, where they have a chance to eliminate the Twins on their own field. That sounds like the club’s plan, too.

When asked what he said to the team after the Game Two victory, Aaron Boone gave Randy Miller two words: “Throttle down.” The Bombers don’t plan on easing up now. They put the Twins on the ropes, and now they’re ready to deliver the knockout blow.

That said, the Bomba Squad won’t surrender as the series shifts to Minnesota. “We’ll have a chance to prove who we are as a team,” said Nelson Cruz to Zach Braziller. The Twins aren’t checking out just yet.

It’s hard not to feel confident as Yankees fans, though. The Bombers put themselves in the best possible position as they take to the road portion of the series. They now have two chances to clinch in Minnesota. It could even happen tonight!
