The Yankees made a statement during last night’s 10-4 victory over the Twins. Tonight, they put together another dominant showing with an 8-2 win in the Bronx. Now they’ll head to Minnesota with a 2-0 lead in the series. We’ll have a full recap up shortly, but check out the highlights in the meantime:
Winner(s) of the Game
Masahiro Tanaka historically loves pitching in October, and that happily remained true tonight. The right-hander tossed five innings of one-run ball, giving up just three hits and one walk. He racked up seven strikeouts, and even sat Miguel Sano twice.
The offense was pretty much firing on all cylinders, especially in the third inning when the Bombers pushed a whopping seven runs across home plate. Didi Gregorius was responsible for four of those runs, as he launched a grand slam into the right field seats. Here’s hoping that his struggles are now behind him.

The Twins, obviously.
Honorable mention: Jonathan Loaisiga really tried to earn this title in the ninth.
