Yankees might be in the hunt for another pitcher; Gary Sanchez will be better in 2019; David Cone meets Adam Ottavino, wears fantastic sweater

NY Daily News | Wallace Matthews: The Yankees might be in on another free agent, but it’s probably not Manny Machado or Bryce Harper. According to one of Matthews’ sources, the Yankees might be quietly searching for another starting pitcher. The source doesn’t think it will be Dallas Keuchel, or you know, someone good. A sixth-starter-type seems most likely.

MLB | Bryan Hoch: The numbers on the back of his baseball card aren’t going to look great, but Gary Sanchez’s 2018 probably wasn’t as bad as you thought it was. A lot of bad luck killed his numbers at the plate, but his expected numbers and average exit velocity show he still has the tools to be an impact bat. While there’s room to improve behind the plate, he’s going to be better in 2019.

MLB Cut 4 | Andrew Mearns: Newly-signed reliever Adam Ottavino posted a throwback picture on Instagram this weekend that shows a young Ottavino meeting former-Yankee pitcher, David Cone. Coney got roasted on social media for it, but honestly, if I had that sweater, I’d keep it in heavy rotation.
