NJ.com | Randy Miller: The Sonny Gray talks have stalled a bit, as the Reds are trying to sign Gray to an extension, and it’s still unclear whether the Yankees and Reds can get Gray to agree to that. If they can’t, the Yankees’ return for Gray might be a bit shorter than expected. Er, no pun intended.

New York Daily News | Bill Madden: The Yankees were plenty active this offseason, but in a different manner than most expected at the onset, opting for short-term deals with quality role players rather than mega-contracts with bona fide stars. Madden favors this approach, and implores us to consider how much more the Yankees could get done with this strategy if they weren’t burdened with Jacoby Ellsbury’s contract.

New York Post: The Post’s staff put together a list of the 10 greatest Yankees in history over the weekend. The composite list is sensible and should ruffle no feathers, but there are some fun picks on the individual ballots. For example, shoutouts to Kevin Kernan for giving a 10th-place vote to Alex Rodriguez; let’s get the man a plaque and centaur statue in Monument Park. Also, props to George A. King III for giving some love to the eternally under-appreciated Bill Dickey.
