After last night’s win, the Yankees have the chance to take three out of four games against the Tigers. Lance Lynn will take the mound for New York this afternoon. The right-hander has had mixed results since joining the team after the trade deadline. His first three outings were great (1 ER through 16.2 innings), but he’s surrendered 13 runs over his last three starts. It’d be nice to see him get back on track today. This will be his third start against Detroit this year. He limited the Tigers to just three runs earlier in the season.
Lynn will square off opposite of Matt Boyd. The southpaw is having an okay season, but historically has not pitched well against the Yankees. During his last outing, he gave up five earned runs to a crappy Royals team.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 ET. You can catch the game on YES or FS-D, or listen to one of the radio broadcasts (WFAN, WADO, or 97.1 The Ticket).
We go for the series win.
