Fresh on the heels of an embarrassing sweep against the Red Sox, the Yankees have a chance to leave Chicago with a sweep of their own. The team will send Luis Severino to the mound for the series finale. He has not been right since the beginning of July, and has been tagged for 23 runs during his last five starts. The Yankees really need him to get back on track here tonight. He pitched well in Chicago last year, so fingers crossed.
Sevy will face off against right-hander Lucas Giolito. He is coming off of a two-hit, seven inning start against the Rays. However, he has been largely awful this season (5.97 ERA, 5.91 FIP). With any luck, he’ll issue plenty of walks, and surrender plenty of home runs tonight.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 ET. You can catch the game on YES or NBCSCH, or listen to WFAN, WADO, WGN, or WRTO.
