Chance Adams makes his major league debut today; Tommy Kahnle back up and Luis Cessa back down; Alex Cora fuels the rivalry fire even more; Yankees will need to beat the bad teams if they want to have a chance

MLB: New York Yankees-Media Day
Hi
Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

MLB.com | Blake Richardson: Since the All-Star Break, the Yankees depth has been tested. Today, one pitcher finally gets his Chance to shine. The Yankees are calling up Chance Adams and throwing him in the deep end. Also, the pool has piranha in it. Also, the pool is literally on fire. Adams’ last start in the minors was encouraging, so there’s that. The Red Sox are not a Triple-A team though. Either way, everyone here is rooting for you, Chance.

MLB.com | Blake Richardson: If you heard about the exciting Chance Adams news, then you undoubtedly heard about the equally exciting Tommy Kahnle news. He’s back, folks. Is he better? Maybe. Are any of us better though? I certainly don’t feel better after the last three games. Also, Luis Cessa was optioned back down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Newsday | David Lennon: Alex Cora was immediately ejected after Luis Severino brushed Mookie Betts back due to Rick Porcello hitting Brett Gardner because baseball. The animosity between both clubs seems to be more intense this year, as it’s not the first time the Yankees & Red Sox have tussled. However, while we’re seeing fire from Cora and the Red Sox, the Yankees have looked lifeless and defeated these past three days.

New York Post | Joel Sherman: The Yankees need to beat the bad teams if they want a chance at 1st place in the AL East. There’s more after the link, but yeah. Do that, Yankees. And hey, try and take these next two games as well. Cool? Cool!
