The Yankees have the chance to finish this series with the White Sox on a high note tonight. They swept the series when the two teams met in Chicago, and that’s unfortunately not going to happen again, but two out of three would be a good outcome. Hopefully they can build on last night’s momentum.
CC Sabathia will take the mound for New York, making his second start since coming off of the disabled list last weekend. He pitched just as well as he has all season during his last start against the Orioles. The southpaw held the White Sox to one run through 5.2 innings a few weeks ago.
He’ll face off against Reynaldo Lopez. It’s been an up and down year for the right-hander (4.66 ERA, 5.16 FIP). He surrendered 12 runs during his last 12.2 innings pitched, but he did limit the Yankees to one run through seven innings earlier in the month.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 ET on YES, MLB Network, and NBCSCH. You can also tune in via WFAN, WADO, or WGN.
