The highs of a weekend sweep (even if it was just the Orioles) were immediately taken back down a notch after Monday night’s frustrating loss to the White Sox. It’s a loss the Yankees probably can’t take many more of, if any, if they are truly going to make the AL East race close again.
If they’re going to right those wrongs tonight, they’re going to need a good start from Lance Lynn. Last time out, Lynn was pretty solid, but he was left out there for a bit too long, and the Yankees ended up taking a loss to the Marlins. However, he’s still mostly been pretty good as a Yankee, including a good start against this White Sox team a couple weeks ago.
As for the rest of the lineup, Greg Bird and Austin Romine both get starts. The rest of the lineup is fairly similar to yesterday’s.
Looking to answer back tonight.

James Shields will get the ball for the White Sox. The artist formerly known as “Big Game James” hasn’t been particularly good the last couple seasons. Theoretically, the Yankees should have an easier time against him than they did against Carlos Rodon.
The #WhiteSox have won a season-high tying four straight games, 10 of their last 13 and 15 of 24 as they continue a seven-game trip tonight at Yankee Stadium.
