The shorthanded Yankees look to complete a four game sweep of the lowly Orioles tonight on Sunday Night Baseball. They have an added incentive to gain more ground on the suddenly scuffling Red Sox, who have dropped six of eight after being swept by the Rays today in Tampa Bay.
The Yanks turn to Luis Severino, who is pitching on seven days rest and looking to return to his ace form. He wasn’t back to his early season self last week against Toronto, but he did grind through five innings and struck out eight. He has a 3.28 ERA on the year, but a 7.26 ERA since the All-Star break.
The Orioles give the ball to Dylan Bundy, who has had his own share of struggles since the break. The righty has allowed seven earned runs in each of his past three starts, which included games against the Mets and Blue Jays. Simply put, he’s been bad. Despite their shortened lineup due to injuries, the Yanks should give Severino plenty of run support.
Here are the lineups for tonight. The game can be seen on ESPN, and heard on the FAN, WADO, or 105.7 the Fan in the Baltimore area.
