Earlier today, the Yankees activated CC Sabathia from the 10-day disabled list. The left-hander went down on August 13th with right knee inflammation, but reports later indicated it was a precautionary move. Sabathia simply needed a “timeout”.
Now that he’s back, he can continue to build on his strong season. Sabathia has pitched to a 3.32 ERA (4.38 FIP) over 119.1 innings. He last started at Camden Yards on July 9th, and it didn’t exactly go well. The left-hander allowed five runs over seven hits across five innings. He also gave up two home runs. Let’s hope he pitches better than that tonight.
As for the Orioles, Alex Cobb will make the start. The 30-year-old is having a terrible season, tossing 132.2 innings of 5.09 ERA ball. His peripherals aren’t much better, as he owns a 4.55 FIP and sky-high 1.29 HR/9. Funny enough, Cobb shut the Yankees down the last time these two teams met. He hurled six innings of one-run ball at Yankee Stadium on August 1st. I think payback is in order, right?
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. You can watch on YES or steam on FOX Sports GO, WFAN 660/101.9 FM and WADO 1280 have the radio call. Go Yankees!
