The Yankees are in Boston and ready to kick off a huge four game set with the Red Sox tonight at Fenway. CC Sabathia gets the ball for the Bombers, as the lefty will look to help wash away the filth that was yesterday’s loss to the Orioles.
The Red Sox counter with Brian Johnson, who is making just his seventh start of the season now that Chris Sale is on the DL. Sale’s absence is obviously a huge break for the Yanks, but with bats like Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez on the shelf, the offense still needs to show up if they want to take game one and set the tone for a successful weekend.
The lineup looks a little different for the series opener, as Aaron Hicks has moved up to the leadoff spot, with Brett Gardner dropping to ninth. Newcomer Luke Voit is also in the lineup as a DH, and set to bat seventh.
