The Yankees have followed up their brutal four-game loss against the Red Sox with four straight victories. After sweeping the White Sox in Chicago, they started this 11-game homestand on the right foot with a win against the Rangers last night. They’ll send Masahiro Tanaka to the mound tonight to try and keep the win streak alive.
Tanaka has looked great since coming off of the disabled list in July. He surrendered just one run over his last 19.2 innings pitched. The right-hander gave up four runs to Texas when he faced them back in May, including two home runs. He’ll face off against Mike Minor. The southpaw doesn’t have much going for him this season, other than the fact that he doesn’t give many free passes. He has surrendered 19 home runs through 21 starts this year, though. That sounds promising for the team that went deep five times last night.
The game starts at 7:05 ET and you can follow along on YES or FSSW. Alternatively, you can tune in via WFAN, WADO, KFLC, or 105.3 The Fan.
