Yankees interested in Brad Hand, Zach Britton; some starting pitchers the Yankees should try to get; Larry Rothschild thinks he can fix Sonny Gray; Aroldis Chapman & Aaron Hicks injuries not thought to be serious

I say, good sir, I am going to attempt and strike you out now.

MLBTradeRumors | Connor Byrne: We’re getting closer and closer to trade season, so naturally the Yankees are being linked to a few teams. Yesterday, we mentioned they might be interested in Mike Moustakas for 1B. Today, it seems the Yankees might be interested in a reliever or two. Brad Hand and Zach Britton, two left relievers, could be on Brian Cashman’s radar. Sure, the Yankees already have one of the best bullpens in the majors, if not THE best. That’s no reason not to try and improve it. Unless you’re a big Chasen Shreve fan, I mean.

MLB.com | Mark Feinsand: Needless to say, the Yankees do need pitching. It was reported yesterday that Jonathan Loaisiga had an MRI that discovered right shoulder inflammation.

Here’s hoping he’s okay. In any case, the Yankees need another starter or two, especially considering the Sonny Gray situation. Feinsand lists the pitchers that are most likely on Cashman’s radar. Michael Fulmer, Madison Bumgarner, Tyson Ross, J.A. Happ, and Cole Hamels are the most likely candidates. We’ll see though.

Newsday | Erik Boland: Speaking of Sonny Gray, he’s bad. At least, for now. Until he’s bad again, that is. “Again” will be Wednesday, as he is scheduled to pitch against the Orioles that day. Larry Rothschild believes that he can help fix Grays’ mechanics and get him back on track. Boone still believes in Gray, but he still needs to see signs of improvement going forward. Don’t we all.

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: Clint Frazier was called up once again. While he didn’t start yesterday’s game, he took over for Aaron Hicks, who was removed due to leg cramps. Frazier will most likely start in the outfield today. Aroldis Chapman was also removed from yesterday’s game due to knee issues. Both injuries to Hicks & Chapman do not appear to be serious, which is good. Boone is hopeful they will be fine before the doubleheader in Baltimore on Monday.

A new Didi Emoji for Chasen Shreve. Hooray!
