The Yankees can’t catch a break with the weather this season. Tonight’s Subway Series finale against the Mets has been rained out. The team announced that the game will be made up on Monday, August 13 at 7:05 PM.
This rainout feels frustrating because the club could have fit the game in this afternoon. The rain didn’t move in until batting practice time. A Subway Series matchup, however, makes for a good Sunday Night Baseball showcase. Plus, the makeup game will force the Yankees to play a stretch of 20 games in as many days. That’s a rough stretch during the dog days of summer.
On the bright side, the Bombers will avoid facing Jacob deGrom for the time being. Plus, they can now head to Tampa Bay ahead of schedule. Get in, get rested, and get ready to work tomorrow.
