The trade deadline will be here before you know it. So far, the Yankees haven’t done anything. It is apparent that they need to improve the rotation, and they’ve been connected to just about every starting pitcher out there. Unfortunately, none of the pitchers who are currently available stand out as major upgrades. That brings us to this week’s prompt:
Rank the Yankees’ potential pitching trade targets
So far, the team has been connected to Cole Hamels, J.A. Happ, Tyson Ross, Michael Fulmer, and Nathan Eovaldi. They’ve also expressed interest in Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, Blake Snell, and Chris Archer. Madison Bumgarner may not be available, but he would obviously be one of the best options. So, how would you rank these pitchers? You could choose to focus only on players who the Yankees have checked in on, or you could include some of the seemingly unattainable options like deGrom. Do you prefer Hamels because he has postseason experience? Do you think Tommy John surgery fixed Eovaldi? Be sure to weigh all the pros and cons. Head over to the FanPost section and share your list. We’ll feature one of the submissions on the front page on Friday.
How will we select which FanPosts to promote to the front page? Some of it will be subjective. If you follow our tips, you should find yourself on the right track. We will also be looking for FanPosts with comments and recommendations. Depending on the number of responses we get, receiving some recs on your post could separate your FanPost from the crowd. Additionally, if your post has a number of comments then it may have sparked some worthwhile discussions. These are just a few things we’ll be looking for when we decide which post(s) to promote on the front page. We are always on the lookout for new talent, and the FanPost section can be a great way to get our attention.
Submit your answer in the FanPost section before Friday (July 20th) for your post to be considered.
