Thanks to a pair of late home runs, the Yankees took game one of the Subway Series over the Mets 4-1. With a win tonight, they can clinch a series win, and extend their recent winning run to nine of 10 games.
Domingo German will get the start on the mound for the Yankees. Last time out was shaping up to be one of German’s better starts this season, but he gave up a couple of doubles near the end of his outing took the shine off it a bit.
Elsewhere in the lineup, Brett Gardner and Greg Bird both exit the lineup for Aaron Hicks and Tyler Austin with lefty Steven Matz on the mound for the Mets. As mentioned, Matz will get the start for the Mets, whose lineup also has been changed up a bit after last night.
Tonight’s game will air on FOX at 7:15, in case you’re looking for it on YES or SNY. Go Yankees, go baseball, and go no more pitcher injuries.
We can clinch the Subway Series with a win tonight.
