New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays: CC Sabathia vs. Marco Estrada

The Yankees send CC Sabathia to the mound for the first game of a two-game set north of the border.

The Yankees have fallen victim to an awful rash of rainouts, and are now left to deal with playing games in different cities and countries every day. Sunday night, they were stuck on the tarmac in Baltimore, yesterday they split a double header in Detroit, and today they’ve flown across the border to Toronto for a two-game series with the Blue Jays.

CC Sabathia will get the ball as the Yankees try to close the one-game gap between them and the Red Sox in the AL East standings. Sabathia has regressed after a sterling start to the year, and his last time out he gave up five runs, three earned, in five innings against the Astros. Hopefully Sabathia can get back on the right track versus a Jays team that has an ugly team slash line of .224/.303/.397 against lefties this year

Marco Estrada will oppose Sabathia. Estrada has had a rough year, running a 5.68 ERA and 5.21 FIP, while allowing 12 homers in 58.2 innings. He has yielded 23 homers in 16 career starts against the Yankees. It just might behoove the Yankees to try and hit some dingers against Estrada tonight.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:07 ET, and you can watch the game on the YES Network or SNET, or listen along on WFAN, WADO, or SN590.
