2018 MLB Draft: Start time, how to watch, live streaming, draft order

Here’s everything you need to know in order to tune in for this year’s draft.

Tonight begins MLB’s annual first-year player draft. After a doubleheader’s worth of baseball, we will learn which players the Yankees will try to add to the organization. Like last year, the 2018 draft will run from Monday through Wednesday.

Also like last summer, the first two rounds of the the draft take place tonight. That includes Round 1, the Supplemental Round, and Round 2 are all on the docket. The Yankees have the 23rd and 61st overall picks.

Here’s how you can follow along with all of the draft news:

Monday June 4: Rounds 1-2

Time - 7:00 pm ET

Tuesday June 5: Rounds 3-10

Time - 1:00 pm ET

Wednesday June 6: Rounds 11-40

Time - Noon ET

The Detroit Tigers will make the first pick, the Giants, Phillies, White Sox, Reds, Mets, Padres, Braves. Athletics, and Pirates complete the top 10. The Orioles, Blue Jays, Marlins, Mariners, Rangers, Rays, Angels, Royals, Cardinals, and Twin complete the top 20. That leaves the Brewers, Rockies, Yankees, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Red Sox, Nationals, Astros, Indians, and Dodgers to finish things off.

The Rays will receive two compensation picks, numbers 31 and 32, for losing Alex Cobb to the Orioles and failing to sign Drew Rasmussen. The Royals also have picks 33 and 34 after Lorenzo Cain and Eric Hosmer signed elsewhere in the offseason. The Cleveland Indians finally get pick number 35 after losing Carlos Santana in free agency.
