After rolling into Tampa Bay on a hot streak, the Yankees have dropped the first two games against the Rays. They’ll look to get away from Tropicana Field after salvaging the final game of this series.
The Yankees will turn to Domingo German (4.77 ERA, 4.06 FIP) to be the stopper. The rookie has certainly had his ups and downs as a starter this year, but he’s been very solid as of late. He’s struck out at least nine batters in each of his last three starts, without allowing more than three runs. He’s also pitched at least six innings in each of his past four starts. The Rays will respond with Matt Andriese (3.68 ERA, 3.12 FIP), who’s making just his third start of the year.
On the lineup side, the Yankees are going with the A-Teamers pretty much across the board, with only Greg Bird taking a seat at first base for Neil Walker. Gary Sanchez will be back behind the plate after Austin Romine caught Sonny Gray yesterday.
The game begins at 1:10 ET and you can catch it on the YES Network, as well as WFAN, WADO, WDAE, and WLCC.
