It’s June 22nd and the Yankees already have 50 wins. That is something, especially after their lackluster start to the season. After sweeping the Mariners, they will kick off a three-game series against the Rays in St. Petersburg tonight. The Yankees took three of four games against them last weekend, and currently lead the season series 5-1.
CC Sabathia will look to extend the Yankees’ winning streak to five games. During his last outing, he held the Rays to three runs and struck out ten batters. Ryne Stanek will start the game for the Rays, but this is a bullpen day for them so he will only face a handful of batters. Ryan Yarbrough has taken over for Stanek recently. He surrendered four runs when he faced the Yankees last week.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 ET and you can catch it on WPIX or Fox Sports Sun. Radio options include WFAN, WADO, WDAE, and WGES.
Let’s start the road trip right.
