Growing up my first intruduction to the yankees vs Red Sox was back in 1977 brawl the collision at home plate. As a huge yankees fan I was captivated by the melee and how forced it was two teams doing battle for respect nettles and Fisk.wild man bill lee and Lou pinnela,sparky Lyle,and the middle of it billy Martin forever a yankees fan I was taken over by the nature of the intense fight. And all season long I became evident that the rivalry was real unlike other sports I don’t think there was anything like it.
