After an inauspicious start to the series, the Yankees have bounced back with two straight wins over the Astros. They’ve clinched at least a split in Houston, but there’s a chance for more. With a win, the Yankees can take three out of four at the home of the reigning World Series champs and the team that knocked them out last season.
To try and do that, the Yankees will send Masahiro Tanaka to the mound. After a bad outing against the Marlins, Tanaka had bounced back and allowed two runs total in his last two starts. In his most recent start, he allowed just two hits and two walks against the Angels.
The Astros will give the ball to Lance McCullers. Last year, McCullers shut down the Yankees down the stretch in game seven of the ALCS. In total, he allowed just one run in 10 innings in that series. This year, he’s gotten off to a slightly above average start, so we’ll see if the Yankees can rebound against him.
The game will air on YES, and first pitch is at 2:10 eastern. Go Yankees, go baseball.
