MLB: New York Yankees at Texas Rangers
Shhhh shhh shhhhhhhh
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports | Bryan Hoch: Another day, another historic dinger or five. The Yankees are hitting all the dingers they possibly can lately. Gleyber Torres had his first multi-homer game of his young career. Torres is the youngest Yankee to hit two dingers in one game since Mickey Mantle. Yes, THAT Mickey Mantle. Also, the Yankees have hit at least four home runs in the last three games. If only we had some sort of nickname for this team. Something that let us know their stadium’s location, as well as had an alternate name for home runs. Alas, I’m at a loss.

Cut4 | Adrian Garro: The Yankees do many things well. They hit dingers, they pitch well, and they hit dingers. Another thing they do well is remind me that I’m old and decomposing. Bartolo Colon pitched for the Texas Rangers last night and did not fare all that well against the Baby Bombers. Gleyber Torres, who hit two Gleydongs off of Colon, was only 3 months old when Colon made his debut. Yay. Sigh. We interrupt me weeping into a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios for this:

I feel better.

Newsday | Erik Boland: Sir Didi Gregorius was back in the lineup after a weekend off. As you well know, May Sir Didi has not been as euphorius as April Sir Didi was. Thankfully, Sir Didi came through with a much needed RBI double last night. Hopefully the first of many. Perhaps the weekend off was just what the doctor ordered. We shall see.

New York Post | Kevin Kernan: The Texas Rangers have not had a great start to the season. With the Astros and Angels playing well, the Athletics showing promise, and the Mariners being the Mariners, the Rangers might not have much to hope for come the trade deadline. Well, except for trades and selling maybe. Kernan makes the case that Cole Hamels could potentially help the Yankees. Could he? Beats me. What do you think?

Didi Victory Tweet

Also, in case you didn’t know, today’s headline is John Sterling’s new addition to his Gleyber Torres HR call. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I think it’s one of Sterling’s absolute best ones.
