Boston Red Sox v New York Yankees
Photo by Elsa/Getty Images | Bryan Hoch: Gleyber Torres is making quite an impact on the major league roster. It has lead some to say that Gleyber Good. On Friday, Torres had a nine-game hitting streak going. He is the youngest Yankee player to have a nine-game hitting streak since Mickey Mantle did it in 1952. As you may or may not be aware, Mickey Mantle was also good. Keep it up, young man. Keep it up.

New York Post | Dan Martin: With Gleyber Torres hitting the baseballs well, there has been some question as to if Aaron Boone would move him up in the lineup. Boone quashed though questions for now, saying that he’s quite comfortable with Torres in the nine-hole. “He becomes like another leadoff hitter down there and HOW DARE YOU QUESTION ME?!” Boone said. Somewhat. I may have added in the second part. Also, Boone has no plans to move Sir Didi Gregorius out of the three-hole, despite his slump. | Mike Lupica: Aaron Judge is an exciting player to watch. Yes yes, we all know about the dongs of immense power. He’s also really good on defense. And other non-dong offensive. Plus, you know, those sweet sweet dongs. According to Lupica, Judge might very well be the most exciting player in baseball to watch. Not the best. Just the most exciting. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I find Judge exciting.

Newsday | Anthony Rieber: The Yankees beat the Athletics in extras yesterday afternoon. A.J. Cole had a bit to do with that, throwing two scoreless innings. It’s been a while since the Yankees used Cole, but he gave them exactly what they needed. If you’re wondering who A.J. Cole is and where he came from, this link may provide you with some answers. If you’re wondering what the A.J. stands for, this link will probably not help you.

MLBTradeRumors | Connor Byrne: Former Yankee legend Chase Headley was traded back to the Padres, because the Padres really really wanted Bryan Mitchell. Yesterday, Headley was DFA’d by his old old team. What does this have to do with the 2018 Yankees? Nothing! I just wanted to remind you that Brian Cashman got the Padres to take Headley and his contract off his hands because they really liked Bryan Mitchell. By the way, Mitchell is currently in the Padres’ bullpen, because yeah.
