The Yankees’ nine-game winning streak is over after the bats failed to figure out Charlie Morton on Monday night in a 2-1 loss to the Astros. The four-game series continues tonight with another tough test on the hill in Justin Verlander, who has picked up right where he left off in last year’s postseason. The 35-year-old has struck out 48 batters in 39 2⁄3 innings so far this season, and carries a 1.36 ERA into tonight’s contest.
The Yanks counter with Jordan Montgomery, who went five innings against the Twins in his last start, allowing two runs and three walks. The Bombers won that game on a walk-off home run by Gary Sanchez.

Aaron Judge is back in the lineup after a night off on Monday, allowing Giancarlo Stanton to move back to DH. Sanchez is back behind the plate, so adding Judge and subtracting Austin Romine should be a big boost for an offense that struggled on Monday.
