The Yankees’ quick two-game win streak was snapped last night, as Andrew Cashner inexplicably turned into a good pitcher and quieted a vaunted New York lineup. The Yankees get another crack at an Orioles starter tonight, facing Kevin Gausman in the Bronx.
Gausman was a favorite target for the 2017 Yankee lineup, as he gave up a staggering 1.040 OPS across five starts last season. All of the Yankees’ big guns are accounted for in the lineup, so hopefully we’ll see more of that kind of dominance tonight.
CC Sabathia takes the hill for New York, and that couldn’t come at a better time. The old left-hander was undefeated last season in starts following a Yankees’ loss. He will look to continue the trend of being the stopper against a powerful Oriole lineup tonight.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm EDT, and you can catch it on YES and WFAN.
