Last night’s game was all over the place, but the Yankees got the win in the end thanks to Didi Gregorius. Masahiro Tanaka will take the mound tonight as the Yankees go for eight straight wins. He is coming off of a great start against the Twins, but was roughed up during back-to-back outings against the Red Sox and Marlins a few weeks ago. Tanaka has pitched well against the Angels in the past (1.63 ERA), so hopefully he can keep the ball in the park tonight.
Garrett Richards will start opposite of Tanaka. He struck out 11 batters during his last start against the Giants, but has never had much luck against the Yankees. After spraining his ankle during last night’s game, Shohei Ohtani will sit tonight. For whatever reason, Andrelton Simmons was a late scratch from tonight’s lineup, too.
This game has another late start time, but it’s not quite as bad as yesterday’s. First pitch is scheduled for 9:07 ET and you can catch the action on Fox Sports 1, or listen to the game on WFAN, WADO, or KLAA.
