The Yankees failed to put together a winning streak last night after Sonny Gray continued to struggle in an 8-5 loss. The Bombers will look to avoid a losing streak in today’s matinee against Marcus Stroman and the Blue Jays. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 ET and can be found on YES. SNET-1 or MLB Network (out of market only), or you can listen to the action on WFAN, WADO or SN590.
Jordan Montgomery takes the bump for the Yanks, coming off a solid outing in which he allowed three earned runs in six innings in a win against the Tigers. Meanwhile, Stroman has been, well, not good so far this season. He has allowed 13 earned runs in 14 2⁄3 innings in 2018, including four runs over five innings against the Yanks in the season’s opening series.
A bright side of last night’s loss was the home run from Giancarlo Stanton, who could use a matchup against the struggling Stroman to continue his rise out of his early season slump. Here’s the rest of the Yankee lineup that will look to pounce on Stroman, and the Blue Jays lineup that will take on Montgomery:
