Fresh off their dramatic come-from-behind victory against the Braves, the Yankees are set to play the Red Sox today in Ft. Meyers. This is the first of two Grapefruit League bouts between the archrivals. Top prospect Chance Adams gets his first start of the spring. He will square off against left-hander Brian Johnson.

Adams will be making his second spring training appearance. He threw one inning in relief during Monday’s win over the Phillies, allowing one run on one hit while walking two. New York’s number-six ranked prospect is looking to show the brass why they don’t need to bring in an experienced starter to shore up the rotation. Adams has yet to make his major league debut.

Johnson, though, has six big league starts under his belt. He is 2-1 with a 4.88 ERA. His career highlight was a complete game five-hit shutout versus the Mariners at Fenway Park last May. With questions surrounding the bottom of Boston’s rotation, Johnson is competing for a spot.

The Bombers sit atop the Grapefruit League standings with a 7-1 mark. Boston, meanwhile, is 7-2. The first pitch of today’s game is scheduled for 1:05 PM EST. You can watch on the MLB Network and listen on WFAN 660 AM/101.9 FM.
