The New York Times | Billy Witz: There is one main thing I want when it comes to spring training. Health. I just want players to come out of spring training healthy. Sadly, we all want things. As reported yesterday, Greg Bird was sent for a CT Scan and MRI for his foot, the same one that cost him most of the season last year.
Update on 1B Greg Bird: Results from an MRI and CT scan taken earlier today revealed right foot inflammation. Bird is scheduled to be evaluated by foot specialist, Dr. Martin O’Malley, on Monday in New York.

Right foot inflammation does not mean it’s broken, so there’s still hope. We will find out more on Monday. It’s probably best to assume that Bird will not be ready for Opening Day. Sigh.
Cut4 | Adrian Garro: I don’t know about you, but I need to cheer up a bit. Nothing puts me in a better mood like dingers. Giancarlo Stanton is good at hitting dingers. Here is said dong, complete with a John Sterling HR call

I’m going to be honest here, “Giancarlo gets a Stanton ovation” is pretty good. I approve.
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: It was a battle for that last roster spot, but it looks like we have a winner. Domingo German was optioned back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, which means that Jonathan Holder emerges victorious. Of course, Bird’s injury could open up a spot for someone else. Sigh. I need more dingers.
Newsday | Erik Boland: Okay, it’s not all bad news. Brandon Drury was hit on the elbow on Friday, prompting his removal from the game. Thankfully, the injury was nothing serious. Drury is going to take the weekend off and he should be ready for the exhibition game against the Atlanta Braves on Monday. You know, Monday. When we find out more about Bird. Sigh.
Earlier today, the Yankees received 1B Mike Ford as a Rule 5 Draft return from the Seattle Mariners and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Oh hey, the Yankees got Mike Ford back. Cool.

Ahhh. I feel a bit better now.
