Masahiro Tanaka is back. After a rough regular season in 2017, Tanaka bounced back in the strongest way in the playoffs to help guide the Yankees to Game Seven of the ALCS. This offseason, Tanaka had a tough decision to make as he had an opt-out clause in his contract, which he ultimately chose not to exercise. Now Tanaka is ready to pick up where he left off last year, back in pinstripes, and about to make his spring debut. Masahiro Tanaka is back.
With the Yankees at home today, here’s the squad that Aaron Boone is sending out behind Tanaka.
.@t_masahiro18 makes his debut & the birthday boy starts at 3B.

I can’t imagine I’ll ever get tired of seeing Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Gary Sanchez, and Greg Bird hitting consecutively. Here’s hoping we get some monster dongs from them. Jacoby Ellsbury was supposed to start but will be scratched after experiencing “tightness in his right side.” Estevan Florial will take his spot in the lineup.
Miguel Andujar gets the start at third base on his 23rd birthday. After hitting two home runs yesterday, to say Andujar’s been hot this spring is an understatement. Let’s see if he can give himself a birthday present. Happy Birthday, Andujar!
Once the starters are out, there’s a chance that baseball fans and football fans could be in for a treat.
Sounds like Russell Wilson will get an at-bat for the #Yankees, possibly today. He says his last AB was 2011 in Asheville.

Russell Wilson’s week with the Yankees is coming to a close and Brian Cashman said earlier he was okay with Wilson getting an at-bat as long as the Seahawks were okay with it. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll gave the okay and it looks like this is happening.
Fortunately, this afternoon’s game will be televised on YES and can also be streamed via FOX Sports GO (yes, they really make you yell “fox” and “go”) if you’re like me and have to sneak in the game while at work. I mean, um, don’t do that. First pitch is at 1:05 PM. Go Yankees!
