Cut4 | MEARNS!!!: As mentioned in yesterday’s magnificent link dump, Brian Cashman has officially been the Yankees’ GM for twenty years. Twenty. Just incredible. During that span, Cashman has had some hits and some misses. Since we’re celebrating the 20th Cashiversary this weekend, let’s focus on the best of the best. Former Pinstripe Alley scribe Andrew Mearns has listed the six best trades in Cashman’s career. Unofficially, according to Mearns, the 7th best trade was Vidal Nuno for Brandon McCarthy because “HAHAHAHAHAHAHA LITERALLY NUNO FOR MCCARTHY” as he told me.
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: One trade absolutely mentioned in Mearns’ article is the one for Sir Didi Gregorius. It’s safe to say that Sir Didi has done well since putting on the pinstripes. His partner at 2B and BFF Starlin Castro is now a Miami Marlin. Spring training will likely determine who Castro’s replacement will be. Smart money is on Gleyber Torres. Tyler Wade, Thairo Estrada, Danny Espinosa, and Jace Peterson could provide him with some competition though. We shall see.
YES Network | Lou DiPietro: The spring training invitees were announced on Friday. There are going to be a lot of top Yankee prospects in Tampa. Exciting, am I right? There are a few prospects who did not get an invite that still might raise some eyebrows. Click the link to find out which.
